Dormant product revival

Sell the products your campaigns never show

For Boden, Redbrain activated 3,000 dormant products, generating 22.5 million impressions and 133% click-to-sale growth.

Redbrain targets products that get few or no impressions in your own campaigns, enriches their data and tests them in the auction with its own budget. Stock that was sitting unseen starts reaching shoppers, at no cost to you until it sells.

Why products go dormant

Most of your range never gets a look in

Your own Shopping campaigns and Performance Max put most of their budget behind the products that already sell. That makes sense for them, but it leaves much of the rest of your range with few or no impressions.

A product nobody sees can’t sell, however good it is. Redbrain’s job is to find out which of those products shoppers want, without you paying to find out.

How it works

From unseen to selling, in four steps

  1. #1

    Find the dormant products

We start with the products that get few or no impressions in your own campaigns. You can choose them yourself: Boden picked 3,000 with its own script and sent them to us in a dedicated feed that stayed up to date automatically.

  2. #2

    Fix their product data

We rewrite titles and fill in missing details with AI product feed enrichment, giving Google more to match each product to the right searches. For Boden, that meant more than 8,000 titles.

  3. #3

Test them in the auction, on our budget

We put the products into Google Shopping through Redbrain’s CSS and pay for every click, aiming at the broad, generic searches where new shoppers look.

  4. #4

    Keep what sells

Bids, products and search terms are adjusted continuously from click and sales data, and you see every result at product and keyword level in Redbrain Connect.

Boden, July to October 2025

3,000 zombie products, brought back to life

Boden had a growing collection of products that its own Google activity wasn’t showing. Redbrain took only those, enhanced more than 8,000 product titles with AI and tested them on its own budget. The campaign, run with impact.com, won Gold for Best Paid Search Campaign at the 2026 Performance Marketing Awards.

Alongside your own campaigns

Extra sales, not shared ones

When Redbrain works only on products your campaigns aren’t showing, the sales it makes are ones you weren’t getting. For Boden, 95.68% of converting keywords were generic searches rather than brand, reaching shoppers who weren’t already looking for Boden, without pushing up Boden’s own cost per click.

Start with your dormant products, and widen it when you’re ready. Boden has since moved on to testing its full feed with Redbrain.

  • No cost to test

Redbrain pays for every click. If a product doesn’t sell, you pay nothing for trying it.

  • Your bestsellers stay yours

Point us at the products that get no impressions in your campaigns, and there is nothing of yours for our ads to compete with.

  • No change to your campaigns

You don’t need to change your own Google Ads campaigns or budgets. Redbrain runs alongside them.

  • Every result visible

See which products and searches sold, and what each sale cost, in Redbrain Connect and a performance email every Monday.

Questions

Dormant product revival: frequently asked questions

A dormant product is one that gets few or no impressions in your own Google Shopping campaigns, so shoppers rarely or never see it. Campaigns and Performance Max tend to spend most of their budget on bestsellers, which can leave much of the rest of a range unseen.

Redbrain takes the products that get few or no impressions in your own campaigns, improves their product data, and tests them in Google Shopping through its own CSS, paying for every click itself. It then keeps adjusting bids, products and search terms based on what sells.

Not if you limit Redbrain to products that get no impressions in your own campaigns: there is then nothing of yours for Redbrain’s ads to compete with. For Boden, 95.68% of converting keywords were generic searches rather than brand, and the activity did not push up Boden’s own cost per click.

There are no setup fees or retainers, and Redbrain pays for every click. You pay an agreed commission only on completed sales, so a product that doesn’t sell costs you nothing.
