About Redbrain.
Redbrain is a Comparison Shopping Service (CSS) partner that runs and pays for Google and Microsoft Shopping ads for online retailers, earning a commission only when those ads produce a sale.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Birmingham, UK, Redbrain works with over 5,000 retailers and brands across 23 countries in Europe, the United States and Australia, including eBay, B&Q, Boden, The LEGO Group and Secret Sales. In 2025 Redbrain delivered £1.25 billion in incremental sales for its retail partners from 634 million clicks. Redbrain is Europe's largest CPA (pay-on-sale) CSS partner, a Google Premium CSS Partner and a Google CSS Spotlight winner in 2024 and 2025. With Boden and impact.com, Redbrain won Gold for Best Paid Search Campaign at the 2026 Performance Marketing Awards.

What Redbrain does.
Redbrain provides six services. Redbrain pays for all Shopping ad clicks, and retailers pay commission only on completed sales.
Google Shopping ads (CSS)
Redbrain lists a retailer's products in Google Shopping through its own Comparison Shopping Service in 21 countries across the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, operating the Merchant Center and Google Ads account and paying for every click. The retailer gains extra Shopping ad placements that send shoppers straight to its own website, and pays an agreed commission only on completed sales.
Microsoft Shopping ads
Redbrain runs the same pay-on-sale Shopping campaigns on Microsoft Advertising, which serves ads on Bing, in all 23 of Redbrain's countries, including the United States and Australia, and funds those clicks too. Retailers reach Microsoft's search audience without a second ad budget or another campaign to manage.
Price comparison site listings
Redbrain lists retailers' products on its own shopping comparison sites, including shopping.co.uk and doingup.com, a UK home and garden comparison site. Shoppers click through to the retailer's website, giving the retailer a further source of sales outside Google Ads.
AI product feed enrichment
Redbrain repairs and rewrites product data at scale, including titles, missing GTINs and attributes, images and product variants, before products enter the auction. Better product data helps products win more relevant searches: for Boden, Redbrain enhanced more than 8,000 product titles with AI.
Dormant product revival
Redbrain targets products that get few or no impressions in a retailer's own campaigns, enriches their data and tests them in the auction with its own budget. For Boden between July and October 2025, Redbrain activated 3,000 dormant SKUs, generating 22.5 million impressions and 133% click-to-sale growth.
Product-level reporting in Redbrain Connect
Retailers see Redbrain's results at product and keyword level in Redbrain Connect, Redbrain's reporting dashboard, plus a performance email every Monday. Retailers can check exactly which products and searches Redbrain sells, instead of relying on one blended number.
What makes Redbrain different.
Redbrain competes with other CSS partners including Genie Shopping, Shoparize, Kelkoo and Adstrong. These are the five main differences.
Redbrain pays for the clicks
Redbrain funds every Shopping ad click from its own budget and is paid only when a click becomes a sale, so the retailer carries no click cost. Subscription CSS partners such as Adstrong host the retailer's own campaigns for a monthly fee, and the retailer still pays Google for every click.
Europe's largest pay-on-sale CSS partner
Genie Shopping, Shoparize and Kelkoo also offer pay-on-sale CSS models. No other CPA partner funds the clicks and delivers more than £1 billion a year in incremental sales; Redbrain delivered £1.25 billion in 2025 across over 5,000 retailers.
Incrementality measured, not assumed
Measured across Redbrain's partner base in 2025, retailers' own campaigns outranked Redbrain in the Google Shopping carousel 91% of the time, and 44% of Redbrain's activity sat outside partners' existing marketing. Redbrain aims at the products and searches a retailer's own campaigns do not reach, and reports its outranking share to each retailer at search-term level, so any overlap is visible and can be fixed.
Built for the long tail, not only hero products
Retailers' own campaigns and Performance Max tend to concentrate budget on best-selling hero products. Redbrain restructured eBay's Shopping campaigns around lower-priced, high-converting products, and in Q1 2025 eBay's sales value through Redbrain rose 62% year on year in the UK and 84% in Germany.
Product-level transparency
Redbrain reports every result at product and keyword level in Redbrain Connect, so a retailer can see which products and searches Redbrain sells and what commission each sale earns. Judges at the 2026 Performance Marketing Awards gave Redbrain's Boden campaign with impact.com Gold, describing it as "transforming a typically opaque channel into a transparent, incremental growth engine".

The team behind Redbrain.
Founder and origin
Redbrain was founded in 2016 by Doug Scott. It has operated as a Google Comparison Shopping Service partner since 2018, after Google opened Shopping ads in Europe to third-party CSS partners following the European Commission's 2017 Google Shopping decision. Redbrain built its model around paying for the clicks itself, so retailers pay only when a sale happens.
Chief Executive Officer
Jared Owen is Redbrain's Chief Executive Officer. He joined Redbrain in 2019 as Chief Revenue Officer and became Managing Director, then CEO. Before Redbrain he was COO and then CEO of a content business that bought traffic from Facebook, Yahoo, Taboola and Outbrain delivering over 5 million clicks a day.
Team and location
Redbrain employs around 50 people. Its headquarters is at Northspring, 31 Temple Street, Birmingham B2 5DB, with engineering and customer support colleagues also working remotely. Redbrain's retail partners are mainly in the UK and Europe, and its campaigns run in 23 countries.
Redbrain supports Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity, and staff raise funds through the Redbrain Strava Club.

How Redbrain works.
Redbrain runs as a managed service. The retailer does not need to change its own Google Ads campaigns or budgets.

Frequently asked questions.
We start by mapping where your products already appear in Shopping and where they don't, because that gap is where additional sales come from. Across our partner base in 2025, 44% of our activity sat outside partners' existing marketing. Before any meaningful spend, we agree a test with you, including the measure, the control and what counts as success, so the answer comes from your data, not our claims.
Some overlap can happen, and we won't pretend otherwise. We agree with your PPC team what we stay away from (brand terms, hero lines, categories you already cover well) and report overlap product by product so you can see it. Across our partner base in 2025, partners' own campaigns outranked ours in the carousel 91% of the time, and we fund every click ourselves, so nothing comes out of your ad budget.
You pay commission on confirmed sales and nothing else: no set-up fees, no retainers, and we pay for every click. Commission is calculated on the order value you validate in your affiliate network, so your normal rules on returns, cancellations and discounts apply. We set the rate against your margin and target cost per sale; a higher rate funds higher bids and wider product coverage, and we only propose one alongside an agreed test that shows whether the extra sales justify it.
Yes. We agree a monthly cap and a fixed CPA in writing, pace against it daily and alert your named contact when spend reaches 80% of the cap. At the cap we pause until the next month or until you approve more, and if reporting delays mean we overshoot, the overspend is ours: you pay no commission above the cap.
Most retailers are live within 48 hours of feed approval, then bidding needs 30 days to settle, so we agree a forecast and review points rather than judging week one. If results fall short, we explain why in writing and set out a recovery plan with a date. You decide whether we continue, adjust or pause, and the click cost of a slow start is ours, not yours.
Yes. You can exclude products, brands, categories or countries, decide whether sale items run, set priority categories and restrict brand terms, and we time changes around your own campaigns and promotions. The limits: changes apply after the next feed update and any Merchant Center review, and every exclusion narrows the sales we can find for you.
You get live dashboard access from launch, with clicks, sales and cost down to product and keyword level, plus monthly reviews with your account manager. Billing and performance assessment use the sales you validate in your affiliate network, so tracked sales on our dashboard can run higher than what you pay for once cancellations are removed.
Yes. You set your commission rate in your affiliate network, so it never changes without your say. We give five working days' notice before any material campaign change or planned pause, including a pause for overdue payment. The one exception is an immediate stop forced by Google policy or a tracking failure; then we tell you the same day and explain why. You have a named account manager and a named escalation contact.
The standard requirement is your product feed and sales tracking through your affiliate network. Customer data is optional, and we never see it: lists for new-customer targeting are shared securely through Google and used only for your campaigns, never for another retailer. You can stop sharing at any time.
Three things from you: your product feed, approval of our programme on your affiliate network with tracking confirmed, and agreement on commission, cap, countries and exclusions. We handle set-up, feed enrichment and campaigns, and most retailers are live within 48 hours of feed approval. Expect two to three hours of your team's time across a kick-off call and a launch check, where we confirm a test sale tracks, exclusions are live and your dashboard login works.
